Richard Loyd Cannon, 61, passed away at his home in Bethany, Oklahoma on February 27, 2015 of end stage renal disease. Richard was born on May 25, 1953 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Donald Cannon and Annetta Cannon. He was married to Cindy Cannon on November 23, 1974 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Richard was a proud graduate from Mid American Nazarene College in Olathe, Kansas in 1975 with a BA in Religion. He began preaching as a teenager and pastored small home mission churches in the Church of the Nazarene after graduation from college. He pastored in Kansas, Missouri, and Texas. After feeling God's guidance to leave the ministry and preaching (which was his joy) he went on to help people with their finances until he became ill. Richard lived his life to serve God with all his heart, soul, and mind. He loved reading and learning. Richard is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cannon, Bethany, OK; Children - Sean Cannon, Susanne Alexander and fianc Clifford James, Stephanie Scheiern and husband Chris Schieirn; grandchildren - Mason and Diana Scheiern. He is also survived by his father, Donald Cannon and siblings, Skip Cannon and wife Sue, Becky Creasy and children David, Theresa, and Jason; as well as other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Annetta Cannon (December 27, 2007) and his grandson, Caleb Scheiern (June 17, 2011). The memorial service will be Thursday, March 5, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, please give donations to Bethany First Church of the Nazarene Missions.
