God took loving wife Rhonda "Lynne" Rogers too soon and way too suddenly early Wednesday morning, March 23, 2016. She was born in Parkersburg, WV on December 29th, 1955 to Velma Faye (Davis) Garlington and Robert R. McGown. She spent her formative years in Henderson, NV and graduated from Basic High School in Las Vegas, NV. Shortly after graduation she moved to Oklahoma City and went to work for OPUBCO where she spent the next 32 years and had many loving and caring friends who had basically watched her grow up. She was currently working at the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture in the office of General Counsel where she was involved in the Commercial Pet Breeders Program. She loved dogs and she loved working with the people she was involved with every day. Lynne was devoted to her family and friends.
Lynne met husband, Roger, at St. Marks United Methodist Church where she was active for many years. They really became well acquainted on a church mission trip doing medical work in Rio Bravo, Mexico. Many memories they shared came from church events and programs and the relationship grew to love and they were married October 23, 2005.
The love of her life became her grandchildren, Zach and Willow, from Hennessey, OK. She did everything she could to see them at any chance and go do things with them. A trip was planned for next May to take them to Pensacola to visit her parents. She was always planning outings, movies, museums and anything else that came up she thought they would enjoy doing.
Lynne is survived by her husband, Roger D. of the home; son, Kevin Flynn of Oklahoma City; parents, Velma and Hank Garlington of Pensacola, FL; sister, Sharon Powell and husband Joe of Harlem, GA, sister, Lisa Ochoa of Vancouver, WA and her daughter Maria Simmons of AR; grandson, Zach Flynn and granddaughter, Willow Flynn of Hennessey, OK; stepson, Christian Rogers and wife Stephanie, and Shelbie & JJ of Guthrie and Michael Christensen of Norman; stepdaughter, Tyler (Rogers) Ray and husband Ean, and Beckett and Blake of Edmond. She is also survived by many loving nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie McGown.
She will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her. May her light shine forever and be in the comfort and grace of God Almighty.
