Rex A. Horne passed away on April 30, 2016 at the age of 83. Rex was born in OKC to Edward & Anna Lou (Walker) Horne. He had three older brothers, Forrest, Robert & Roy, and a close-knit group of cousins. He graduated from Central High School and then, Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He served honorably in the Air Force at Tinker Air Force Base and in Topeka, KS. Rex worked at City Service Gas Company, where he met his wife, Jane (nee Kelly), and also at Colorado Interstate Gas Company. He worked at Kerr McGee as a Financial Analyst for 24 years until his retirement in 1991. Rex and Jane were happily married for 56 years, and spent many happy times with Jane's sisters and their husbands (Dolores & Bob Thomas, Jean & Pat Mann, Nancy & Pat Shehan). Rex was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, where he volunteered for Mobile Meals for 20 years. Rex was also the President of the Woodlake Homeowners' Association for 8 years. He was a loving husband, father & grandfather who was often a stand-in when his nieces, nephews or grandchildren needed him. Rex is survived by his wife, Jane; Daughters, Judy Monthaven and Ann Horne-Feige (& her husband Eric Feige); beloved dog, Phoebe; Grandchildren, Lauren Brown (& her husband Erik Brown), Kelli Monthaven, Matthew Monthaven, Stephen Monthaven, Isabella Feige, and Gabriela Feige; and Great-Grandson, Liam Monthaven. A funeral mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 3rd at 11:00am, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
