Rev. Raymond Lindley entered the blessed promise of eternal life April 1, 2009. He was born July 23, 1912 at Dodd City, Arkansas and pursued his earthly journey by living a good and fruitful life for more than 96 years. Raymond married Lena Faye Sims in October 1932. He was ordained in 1942 by the Church of the Nazarene and together they ministered to churches and continued to serve more than 60 years until his retirement and after. They were members of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion, mother Mable, sister Ruth Hickman, and brothers Gene, Jack, Dude and Nathan. He is survived by his wife of over 77 years, Faye; his son and wife, Bob and Mary Dell Lindley of OKC; one grandson and wife, David and Gina Lindley of OKC; two great grandchildren, Luke and Cameron Lindley of OKC; nephews Gary Lindley, Eufaula, Denny and Randy Jack Lindley, Tulsa, Larry Lindley, OKC, Harold, Jerry, and Jackie Akin, all of OKC; sister in law, Mary Ruth Lindley, Tulsa; as well as other relatives and loving friends around the world. Raymond's ministry was extensive including pastoring at Buffalo Valley, Harrah, Pawhuska, Bartlesville, Wewoka, OKC, Arpelar, Tulsa, and Norman, OK. Additionally at Coffeyville, KS, St. Louis, MO, Walton and Batesville, AR, Westminster, CO and Shafter, CA. Gratitude is expressed by the family for the loving care given by the staffs at Quail Creek Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Mercy Hospital, Physicians Choice Hospice, Bethany First Church of the Nazarene and the United Methodist Church of the Servant. The funeral service will be at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, OK, Monday, April 6 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
