Rebecca Wilkins, 57, departed this world, on February 14, 2016 after a valiant three year battle with breast cancer. Rebecca was born in Oklahoma City on August 4, 1958 to Orin and Patsy Wilkins. Rebecca graduated Salutatorian from Putnam City West High School in 1976. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she graduated in the top of her class with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting in 1980. Rebecca took her CPA exam where she not only had the highest score of her graduating class, but also in the entire state of Oklahoma. She attended the University of Denver where she earned her Masters Degree in Tax Law. Rebecca went to work for KPMG Peat, Marwick where she was employed for many years. She went on to form a partnership with Carol Wilson to create Wilson, Wilkins and Company. That company later merged with another firm to form Zarlengo, Wilkins and Company. Throughout her career, Rebecca enjoyed traveling and teaching tax law. The University of Denver invited her to teach for them and put her through law school. She graduated in 2008 with a Juris Doctorate. She passed the BAR exam in 2008. Rebecca moved to Washington DC to work for a non-profit organization, Citizens for Tax Justice. She excelled in her field and served as their spokesperson where she had many television and radio interviews. As always, Rebecca rose to the top and was hired by the Fund for Constitutional Government. She was also asked to serve as Executive Director of the FACT Coalition and the Tax Justice Network. Rebecca had a passion for her work and was admired by her peers. Rebecca also had a passion for her family. She loved spoiling her three nieces and nephew and eventually, her five grand nieces and three grand nephews.
