Rebecca Ann (Becky) Pierce passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015. She was born July 31, 1933 to Clint and Eula McClellan Walker in Gause, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; granddaughter Courtney Ann Guest, her parents and her four brothers: James M. Walker, G.C. Walker, Ed Walker and Raymond Walker. She lived in Lexington, TX, and Pharr, TX, where she graduated from high school. She attended Bethany Peniel College, now Southern Nazarene University, and married Melvin Pierce, April 4, 1952 in Norman, OK. They lived in College Station, TX, later in Ft. Worth, TX, and then Arlington, where they lived 47 years. In 2008, they moved to Oklahoma City to be near family. She is survived by three children: daughters Marsha Smith and husband Robert of Bourbonnais, IL, and Melanie Guest of OKC, OK, and son, Mel Pierce and wife Karen of OKC, OK; and six special grandchildren: Scott Smith (Amy), Bourbonnais, IL; Tiffany Marshall (James and future great-grandson, Armand), Arlington, TX; Stephanie Matthews (Coty), Nashville, TN; Mallory Pierce, Morgan Pierce and Justin Pierce of OKC, OK; and a large group of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Always a homemaker, caring for her family and others who were around, she enjoyed cooking and meeting the needs of others. She was active in PTA in the schools her children attended. A member of the East Park Church of the Nazarene for 46 years, she served in many ministries during those years. She was interested in genealogy, and compiled family trees for both their families. She and Melvin loved to visit places where their ancestors had lived, and they became acquainted with many distant relatives. After Melvin's retirement they spent 10 years traveling in their motor home. They toured most of the US and spent a lot of time camping with family and friends and grandchildren. In 2008 they moved to OKC, where she was a member of the Lake Overholser Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed having relatives nearby, and renewing old friendships, as well as making new friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Lake Overholser Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at 4:00pm Monday at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Aline, OK.
