Due to our concern for the health and safety of others during this pandemic, in lieu of a service the family has created this video tribute to Becky: https://www.youtube.com/watchv=hsTaYGh8ZoY
Rebecca Lynn Moore of Oklahoma City, OK, succumbed to COVID-19 and drew her last breath on December 16, 2020 with her husband and children at her side. She was 67.
Becky was born on February 3, 1953 in Fort Worth, TX, to R.A. and Mary Caldwell. Beckys childhood was defined by her fathers service in the US Air Force, with the family making frequent moves and living at various times in Texas, California, Utah, Florida, England, and the Philippines. The experience from these travels and the familys frequent road trips to Yellowstone National Park, shaped Beckys perspective of the world and people around her for the rest of her life. Becky graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1971 and subsequently attended Texas Tech University where she majored in physical education. After she left college, Becky first worked as a cashier at Buddies grocery store, and it was there she was invited to attend a Three Dog Night concert by her coworker, a gangly kid named Eddie Moore, who had the tickets but no car to get there. The rest, as they say, is history. After a year of trans-Atlantic letter writing, Becky and Eddie were married in July of 1976 and spent the next nine months living in Germany, where Eddie was stationed with the US Army. Upon their return, the young couple established their home near Dallas, TX and started a family.
Becky was sunlight in a bottle. She adored her immediate family, her extended family, her church family, and everyone in between. She was a loving wife, a magnificent mother, and a trustworthy friend. She had a knack for building rapport quickly with nearly anyone, which led to a whole lot of folks feeling like they were her family. The Moore family home, always well-appointed with snacks aplenty and decor crafted by Becky herself, has been a safe harbor for many. She loved Jesus and all things British TV, big family meals, and the happy squeal of her grandchildren running down the hall.
Becky was preceded in death by her father, R.A. Caldwell, and brother, Bob Caldwell. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Eddie; her mother, Mary Caldwell of Oklahoma City; her son, Andy Moore and Katy Knight and their children Hudson, Elsie, and Margo; and her daughter, Valerie and Chris Morgan and children Layla, Penny, Bobby, and Archer.
The family would like to extend our thanks to the amazing nurses and doctors on the COVID floor at Mercy Hospital, who have wept with countless families, including our own.
