Raymond Benjamin Webster, age 89, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Raymond was born October 12, 1934 to Richard and Rachel Webster in McLoud, Oklahoma. He was raised by his grandparents, Will and Rose Jones.
On March 13, 1960, he married the love of his life, Verba Lea (Moore) Webster of Hartville, MO. Raymond served 2 years in the Army and 1 year in active duty reserve. After his service in the military, he became a Supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base for a total of 33 years of government service.
Upon retirement from Tinker AFB, he took on a job with Black Tie Valet Service as a limo driver. He loved coming home and telling of the famous people he got to meet and drive around. He did this for 10 years. After having a stroke, he had to really retire and relax, which consisted of fishing and traveling with his family.
Raymond was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will and Rose Jones; his parents, Richard and Rachel Webster; and two sisters, Russie Harris and Rosabell Greenfield.
He is survived by his wife, Verba Lea Webster; two sons, Raymond Eugene Webster and wife Sheila and David Wayne Webster and wife Shelly; five grandchildren, Christopher, Shenna, David Ray, Peyton and Chelsea; and four great-grandchildren, Adikin, Breccan, Grace and Zoey. He is also survived by one brother, Charles Webster; and two sisters, Wanda Ellis and husband Larry, and Francis Waters; along with many nieces and nephews.
RIP Raymond, you will be greatly missed.
Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Friday from 9am-8pm with family present from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, February 3 at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
