Obituary

Ray Orville DeLong, 95, passed away July 10, 2015 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born September 16, 1919 in Piedmont, OK to Lewis A. and Beulah (Joiner) DeLong. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed in San Diego, CA and Norman, OK. He worked as an aircraft mechanic and later a technical specialist for Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma City. He was a father who could build anything and completed many projects through the years. He loved his children, loved to sing, and enjoyed playing the piano by ear. His walk with the Lord included directing the choir and congregational singing which impacted many lives. He loved his wife dearly and his favorite place to go was the family lake house. Even in his retirement years he actively constructed many of the improvements that still are enjoyed by his family today. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty and survived by his four children, Karen DeLong, Philip and Laronda DeLong, David and Dana DeLong, and Kathryn and Robert Rose all of Oklahoma City. He was blessed to have known his 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Each one experienced his humor and love. You touched so many lives. We love you. We will miss you. We WILL see you again. Viewing will be Sunday, 11:00am-9:00pm with family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Mercer-Adams.
