Ralph Edward Hodge was born December 19, 1918 in Henry, IL. He married Geraldine (Gerry) Wickland in 1943 and they eventually settled in Sterling, IL. They had one daughter Linda Jean (Bratcher). Ralph served as Sunday School superintendent at Sterling First Church of the Nazarene for more than 25 years. After retiring from the RB&W wire mill, Ralph and Gerry moved to Oklahoma City to be near family. Ralph became well known in the community for his handcrafted toys, games, and puzzles. After Gerry's death, Ralph married Vurela Attaway in 1999. He quickly became a dearly loved Dad to all of Vurela's family. Ralph was a greeter at Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, OK for several years. Ralph had a keen sense of humor and was always ready to tell a joke to fit most any occasion. This gracious man showed his love for his spouses throughout their illnesses. His love for all his family was unsurpassed. He is survived by two grandchildren, Tammy Newton and Todd Bratcher, three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Newton, Alexander Newton, and Savannah Bratcher, son-in-law Dennis Bratcher, wife Vurela, and her two sons, Stephen and Charles Attaway, Jr. along with their children Christie, Elizabeth, Paul and Jonathan.
