Phyllis Joann Williams, born January 2, 1941 in Hugo, Oklahoma to J.D. Doc and Gladys M. Messer, died November 18, 2008. As a young child, she moved with her family to Ashland, Kansas where Joann attended school. She attended Midwest Christian College in Oklahoma City. On November 25, 1960, Joann married Gene Williams of Oklahoma City. She is survived by her husband Gene; her children, David Williams and his wife Staci of Blue Springs, Missouri, Angela Williams of Euless, Texas, Bruce Williams and his wife Diane of Oklahoma City, and step-daughter Vicki Thorpe and her husband Russell of Edmond, Oklahoma. She is survived by five grandchildren, Nathalie, Kaitlyn, and Westin of Blue Springs, Missouri and Courtney and Blake of Oklahoma City. Her two sisters, Alma Lee of Hugo, Oklahoma and Reba Smith and her husband Bill of Derby, Kansas survive her as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews. Joann was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Services will be Friday, November 21, 10:00 a.m. at Northwest Baptist Church with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
