Phyllis Ann (Womack) Miller
Phyllis A. Miller passed away on April 27, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 88. She was born in 1934 in Iola, Kansas, the 11th of 14 children of Ralph and Regina (Eckart) Womack. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1952 and moved to Wichita, Kansas where she worked at Boeing as a mail girl. She met her future husband, Jack W. Miller, on a blind date, and he swept her off her feet. They were married less than a month later on April 3, 1953. They lived in Eagle City, OK; Borger, TX; Norman, OK; and then settled down in Oklahoma City, OK where they were married 44 years, until Jacks death in 1997.
Phyllis worked many years as an executive secretary for a commercial realtor, and most recently, worked for 15 years as a Mercy Hospital volunteer at the front desk of the hospital. She loved her volunteer work and her co-workers, and it gave her purpose and drive in her later years.
Phyllis was a fun-loving, vibrant woman and always the life of the party. She excelled at everything she undertook, including furniture refinishing, sewing, knitting/crocheting, baking, gardening, and volunteering in various capacities. A staunch supporter of her family, she was someone you wanted in your corner during trying times. She will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her three children, Shirley Hicks, Rita McHann, Janice Chesler (Don); 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Womack, and Joe Womack; a sister, Bernadette Cimino; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, May 2, 10:30am at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church with interment in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
