Phyllis Ann Duncan, 82, of OKC, OK, passed away February 6, 2021. She was born in Ada, OK on July 28, 1938 to Robert and Allene Thompson. Phyllis graduated from Capitol Hill High School, class of 56. After high school, Phyllis became a stewardess for American Airlines. She also worked for WKY Radio, Sears, and Heritage Place. It was her role as property manager at McKinley Properties where she met several lifelong friends. In 1979, Phyllis met James R. Duncan. They were married in 1981 and spent the next 31 years going to concerts, movies, OU football games, and traveling the country. They were rarely apart but always included family and friends on their adventures. The other two loves of her life were her sons, Carl and Darryl. Mom was always full of love and encouragement and she loved us unconditionally. Phyllis had many friends, but she had a special bond with her closest girlfriends, Connie, Paula, L.D., Lorraine and Judy. She also loved her dogs through the years: Sammy, Boomer, Shasta, Nikki and granddog, Riley. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Duncan and her parents, Robert and Allene Thompson. She is survived by her sons, Carl Shelden of OKC and Darryl Shelden of OKC; brother, Robert Thompson and wife Karen of Henderson, NV; stepson, James "J.J." Duncan and wife Dixie of Kent, WA; stepdaughter, Cathy Akin of Fullerton, CA; granddaughters, Baylee Shelden, McKenna Duncan, Danielle Duncan; grandsons, Jeff Lindsey, Austin Duncan; 3 great-grandkids, Landon, Cory, and Cassidy Lindsey.
