Phyllis Jean Deal, age 87, died in her sleep on November 24, 2024 in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Phyllis lived with purpose as a wife and mother, stepping into the role of office manager and election board official once her children were grown. She was a life-long volunteer, most recently serving as a community educator with the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. During her last 25 years, she volunteered as a member and officer of the Oklahoma Home and Community Education Northwest Seekers group, often forming alliances with national non-profits for the benefit of all Oklahoma County residents.

Phyllis was the first born on February 23, 1937 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Phil and Stella Adamson. Phyllis graduated from Derby High School, where she met Lowell, her husband of 69 years. They married at the Church of Christ in Wichita on November 4, 1955. Motherhood arrived while in England as a US Air Force wife, then again in Louisiana. For over 50 years, she called Bethany, Oklahoma home.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Lowell Deal; daughters, Lynn Deal and Gayle Hagood-Deal; grandchildren, Amelia White and Zackery Hagood-Deal; siblings, Carl Adamson, Robert (Bobby) Adamson, and Deborah (Debby) Booth.

A memorial service to honor Phyllis will be held at 2:00 pm on December 7, 2024, at the Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma. All who knew Phyllis are welcome.
