Obituary

Phuong "Kelly" Dinh Tran of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was born on October 1, 1955 in Saigon, Vietnam. He was the second son of the late Luc Dinh Tran and Ca Thi Luong of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After receiving the final sacrament, Phuong peacefully crossed the path to be with the Lord in his home on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the age of 67 with his beloved wife of 34 years along with their children and extended family by his side. Phuong, along with his parents and 5 siblings, immigrated to the United States in 1975 and resided in Anadarko, Oklahoma for a short time. He and his family then finally settled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a welder for Trinity Industries and CNC Machinist at CMI Corporation. Phuong was a jack of all trades, a problem solver, and a jokester. He enjoyed being an at-home automobile mechanic, involved himself in home improvement, backyard landscaping, traveling, cooking Vietnamese cuisines, animal rescue, and watching the Dallas Cowboys football team playing on television. He was able to experience traveling along both of the coastlines of the United States as well as Canada, the Gulf of Mexico, and even revisited Vietnam to reconnect with relatives. Phuong enjoyed his time volunteering at St. Andrews Dung Lac Catholic Church, which provided a haven for his children to grow their religious faith and create lifelong friendships within the community. The spirit of persistence to guide all of his children towards their potential was mirrored by his mother. He enjoyed spending time with his family, extended family, and friends. Phuong is well loved by all who knew him. Phuong is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Hung Dinh Tran. He is survived by his wife Lynn; sons, Michael and Kevin; daughters, Lauren and Megan; sisters, Tuat (Mary) & husband The, Nu & husband Hao, Thu & husband Hao, Christina (Lan) & husband Dzung, Dung (Amy), and sister in-law: My Dinh. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters in-law, and of course his four compassionate and loyal canine companions, Daisy, Mocha, Kobe, and Slinky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Dung-Lac Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday January 7, 2023 with interment to follow in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of monetary offerings and flowers, Phuongs family requests donations to be made to St. Andrew Dung-Lac Catholic Church in memory of Phuong "Kelly" Dinh Tran. .
