Phillip Larry DeKinder, of Yukon, passed away on May 18, 2025. He was 75 years old.

Larry was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather whose kind heart, warm laugh, and generous spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched.

Larry was born on March 5, 1950 in Chickasha, Oklahoma and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1968.

Throughout his career, Larry worked for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and was the owner of a company that provided security for KFOR Newschannel 4. Larry was also a member of the Bethany Public Schools Hall of Fame for his philanthropic work with the Bethany Foundation.

Larry was Congregational Chair of Western Oaks Christian Church where he was also an elder and taught Sunday School classes for 25 years.

Larry delighted in spoiling his grandchildren, enthusiastically supported Oklahoma State University athletics and spent several decades caring for tiny dogs.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Marguerite DeKinder. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jacquie DeKinder; his sister, Nancy Adair; his brother, Dale DeKinder; his three children, Mat DeKinder, Lucus DeKinder, and Elizabeth Denning; and his six grandchildren, Athena DeKinder, Isabelle DeKinder, Wayne DeKinder, Dirk DeKinder, Blair DeKinder and Ellee Denning.

Services will be held at Western Oaks Christian Church on Saturday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to City Rescue Mission.
