Philip "Phil" John
Cox
Jun 17, 1963 — Jun 4, 2024
Philip "Phil" John Cox achieved the ultimate promotion on June 4, 2024, when he entered the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Madeleine and William Cox on June 17, 1963. He grew up in New Jersey and Oklahoma, graduating from Yukon High School in 1981. He attended college focusing his studies on business.
Phil possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and owned multiple businesses, including daycare centers where he was affectionately known as "Mr. Phil." He excelled in leading and motivating others, with a reputation for his strong work ethic.
He had a love for sports, often preferring the Sports Animal over music. He enjoyed watching the New York Rangers. During his time in the Northeast, he played hockey, achieving a remarkable feat of scoring 15 goals in a single game. He took great joy in coaching his son in various sports, a pursuit he shared with his best friend and brother Bill, who was his Irish twin, born on the same day but one year apart.
Above all, Phil's life was defined by his love for his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and Papa PJ.
On December 24, 1994, he married his wife of almost 30 years, Sabrina Schoeb. Together they built a loving family with their three children, Arienne, Andrew, and Ian. They traveled often to the beach, his favorite place to be.
Phil faced many challenges throughout his life. He overcame each one with grit and determination. He didn't make excuses, he just worked harder.
He is survived by his wife, Sabrina; his daughter, Arienne Graziano (Garret); his son, Ian; his "little darling," Murphy Kate; his mother; father; brother; and sisters, Dawn Hunter and Jennifer Ferraro; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew.
A celebration of Phil's life will be held on Friday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Crossings Community Church.
