Peggy Thomas, 86, died on February 14, 2023, in OKC, OK. She was born March 12, 1936, in Hochatown, OK to Dudley Goolsby and Jewell Stout Goolsby. Peggy graduated from Idabel High School in Idabel, OK in 1954 and in 1979 Peggy earned her Associate of Applied Science and became a licensed RN.
Peggy grew up in in Idabel, Oklahoma but left small town life at an early age to marry Kenneth Thomas, who was also from Idabel. As the wife of an Air Force officer, mom pretty much raised her two children by herself. Between running after two children, she made time to paint, bead and arrange flowers. She was also a model for a well-known Taiwanese designer.
When her two children got older, Peggy returned to school and got an Associates Nursing Degree. After working in heart surgery, Peggy decided to switch over to nurse case management, where she worked for Genex for many years. In retirement, Peggy liked to shop, travel, attend plays and concerts. She was a dedicated, enthusiastic and unwavering fan of her beloved Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Dudley Goolsby, her mother, Jewell Goolsby, her son, Mitchell Thomas, and her brother, James Dudley Goolsby. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Thomas, her sisters, Joann Goodner and Marilyn Dixon, her grandson, Jeremy Dixon, and many nieces and nephews and many friends.
