Peggy Ruth Rogers 1937-2010
Peggy Rogers went to be with the Lord on January 29th, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Sulphur, Oklahoma in 1937, she was preceded in death by her father Joseph Danyeur and her mother Jamie Ruth Odom.
She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren, and a wonderful and gracious friend to all she met. Peggy was a long time member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene where she sang in the choir and was a small group leader for Women of the Word Bible Study. She was employed as a school bus driver for Putnam City Schools where she has served for a number of years. As a teenager, she was a member of the National Honor Society, the Oklahoma High School Honor Society, a twirler in her high school marching band, and received numerous awards for education and musical excellence.
She is survived by one brother, Joseph Paul Danyeur, of San Antonio, TX; three sons: Jason Rogers of Bethany, OK, Jeff Rogers of Wichita, KS, and John Rogers of Broken Arrow, OK; and her spirit is revived by five adoring grandchildren: Austin and Kaitlyn, of Wichita, Jake and Kade, of Bethany, and Morgan, of Broken Arrow; and host of extended family and close friends.
We will miss you while you are away from us Mom, but we also know that you are never too far away. Help us to carry on the grace of your spirit.
Memorial services for Peggy will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4th, 2010.
Flowers are welcomed, or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Peggys name.
