Peggy Irene Birdwell Campbell, 86, of Oklahoma City, passed away on January 21, 2017, after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Paul, who passed in February of 2016.
Peggy was born October 24, 1930, the middle child to Jimmie Bruce Birdwell and Lillie Lucille Humphrey Birdwell.
Peggy worked in the Oklahoma City Public School system for over 30 years, the last 25 as the Registrar at US Grant High School, where her children attended school. After her retirement, she and Paul enjoyed travelling, playing canasta with their friends, taking vacations with their family, and Sunday dinners with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her church family at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a member for over 50 years.
She is survived by her sister, Jimmie Jean Weaver of Welches, Oregon. She is also survived by her sons, George and daughter-in-law Denise, Steve and daughter-in-law Elyce; daughter, Kelley and son-in-law Bob. She loved her grandchildren: Garrett and wife Kristi, Austin and wife Kristen, Marshall, Rachel and husband J.D., Adam and wife Melia, April and husband Derek, and Lane. She was blessed with great-grandchildren also: Cruz, Jett, Jax, Dylan, Scarlet, Harper, Lincoln and Foster.
