Obituary

Obituary for the late Pearline Bernard Miller; fondly known as Pearl, to many of her friends and families. Pearline was born on July 31, 1947 in Montego Bay Jamaica, to the late Dorrette Williams and John Bernard. She attended Springfield All Age School and then moved to Branch Texas High School. After leaving High School she was gainfully employed at JAMAL, an adult learning center, there she helped adult learners to achieve their life-long passion for reading and learning. Pearline persued her passion for drama and speech and was known Island wide for her dramatic plays and spell bounding skits. Pearline migrated to the USA in 1982 and in 1984 she obtained her first job at Nazarene Kids Korner as a pre-school teacher. From there she moved on to Rainbow Day Care Center. Her love for children and teaching were outstanding, hence the numerous awards and recognition she received for her commitment and loyalty. In 1999, Pearline was employed by Endless Possibilities, Hobby Lobby, there she worked for 13 years, until the time of her death. Pearline is the mother to four beautiful girls namely Jennifer, Caline, Berginia, and Sketa, and two sons Ray (deceased) and Elvis. In 1980 Pearline met and fell in love with the late Willie Jones and they were united in Marriage on July 6, 1982. Pearline's quest for love and friendship lead her to Edward Miller and they were united in Marriage in 1990. The Union lasted for 4 years. In late 2012 Pearline was diagnosed with cancer of the colon. She started her treatment and was hoping to continue on her treatment plan. Her condition suddenly deteriorated and on January 7, 2013 she succumbed to her illness. Pearline is survived by her children Jennifer, Caline, Berginia, Elvis and Sketa; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; her best friends Norma and Tony Solis; her co -workers from Endless Possibilities and countless other friends and relatives. Pearline has been called home to be with her Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Our lives have been touched, and our thoughts filled by her radiant spirit and infectious smile. Today she is in heaven smiling down at us. Mommy we loved you dearly, but God loved you best, and today you are sitting at his right hand; so my beloved Mother, sleep on, just sleep, and take your rest. May her soul rest in peace.
