Paula Lou Wallace passed away October 6, 2022 at her home in Oklahoma City. She was surrounded by her family who cared for her until the end.
Paula was born in 1960 to Donald and Patsy Thompson. In 1979, she married the love of her life, Arthur Wallace. They spent 43 wonderful years growing together, learning from one another, and prioritizing lifes greatest joys.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; mother, Patsy; son, Jamie; daughter, Sarah and son-in-law Davin; her daughter, Allie; and her brother, Donald. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald.
Paula retired after working 38 years at Tinker Air Force base. She met some of her best friends there and earned the love and respect of many.
Paula was an exceptional wife and mother who cared deeply for others. She loved both her family of origin and her large chosen family of so many who she connected with and helped steward in life. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help and she made sure every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy; earning the nickname "universal mom."
While her family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Paula in a way that honors her spirit. Arthur would like to invite the community to join in a Celebration of Life Ceremony on October 22nd, 2022, 11:00-3:30pm, at Rockwell Plaza YMCA.
It would be wrong to say she lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. She was determined and remained strong when anyone else would have broken. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Paula.
In her own words, "Live everyday as though it were your last, and have no regrets"
