Obituary

In Loving Memory of Paula Ann (Nickl) Guadagno, a woman who truly embodied love, creativity, and an enduring zest for life. Born on November 3, 1945, in Pensacola, FL, to Frances Nickl and Marjorie (Kelley) Hunstein, Paula embarked on a life-long journey filled with artistry, family, and endless adventures. She passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. From her early beginnings in St. Louis, Paula cultivated a love of art and a fierce loyalty for the Cardinals, her beloved baseball team. Her artistic flair and entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish a stained-glass business in OKC enabling her to merge her love for art and business while creating beautiful pieces of art cherished in homes, churches, and businesses to this day. Perhaps her most impressive masterpiece was her family. A doting mother to eight children and beloved Mimi to twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Paulas heart was as vast as her lineage. She instilled in her brood a love for the arts often taking them to museums, Broadway shows, countless plays, and teaching them how to create stained glass pieces. Paula was a beacon of light in every room she entered. Her radiant personality and indomitable spirit attracted friendships wherever she went. From poker nights at the Elks Lodge to her infamous house parties, Paulas zest for life and people were infectious. She had a charitable soul that led to her becoming a foster parent to newborn babies, and she was instrumental in establishing and supporting drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs to assist those in need. As we remember Paula, let us remember a woman who painted the world in vibrant colors. A woman who created beautiful pieces of art, yet was herself the most beautiful masterpiece of all. Her love for her family, her passion for art and baseball, her enduring strength, and her uncontainable joy for life are the legacy she leaves behind. The music of her laughter will forever play in our hearts as we remember her twinkling blue eyes and her welcoming spirit. Paula was a woman who loved deeply, lived passionately, and left an indelible mark on everyone she met. It is our honor to carry her spirit within us, sharing her love and joy with each person we meet, just as she would have wanted. In honor of Paula, may we live each day fully, love profoundly, and remember to add that single ice cube to our glass of wine. May her spirit live on in each shared laugh, each story told, and each beautiful memory of a life so vibrantly lived. Paula was preceded in death by her firstborn child, Richard James Kesselring, Jr, and her parents. Her surviving loved ones include husband Anthony Guadagno, whom she married in May 2014; children Trisha Frank (Tony), Kevin Kesselring (Teresa), Eddie Kesselring, Christopher Kesselring, Sarah Hardin (Josh), Rachel Dirkschneider, and David Dirkschneider (Jenny); siblings Frank Nickl (Donna), Douglas Nickl (Bianca), Gregory Nickl (Gwen), and baby sister Mary Roberto (Phil); twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless beloved friends. A funeral mass will be held on July 15 at Christ the King Church in Nichols Hills (OK) at 11:30 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Elks Lodge at 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable contributions in memory of Paula Guadagno be made to the Brain Support Network, PO Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA 94026, www.brainsupportnetwork.org. .
