Paul David Jarnagin, age 58, entered eternity with Jesus on July 30, 2013. He passed away in the loving presence of his faithful sister, Shirley Standley. He was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on February 14, 1955 to Jack & Lavona Jarnagin. From the moment he entered this world, he had to deal with hardships. As a child, Paul nearly died at the age of eleven. He was badly burned and spent many months in the hospital. However, God spared his life. The last several months of his life, he fought a courageous battle with cancer. Through all these trials, he reached out to Jesus in moments of fear; he remained strong and did not complain. Today, we are rejoicing for his new heavenly body! Paul was an avid tv watcher, and LOVED to drink coffee (lots of coffee). He enjoyed bowling, wrestling and doing puzzles. He kept an eye on the weather and always made sure his family knew when to be "weather aware". Even during his final stay in the hospital, Paul would watch the weather and send his sister, Shirley, home if there was a sign of heavy rainfall! Paul loved his family very much, and enjoyed spending time with them. Paul is preceded in death by his loving mother Lavona "Sweety" Chism and his father Jack Jarnagin. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane Jarnagin; his daughter Kerri Jarnagin, his sisters Shirley Standley and Janet Fleming, one grandson and many nieces and nephews. Paul accepted Christ and asked for forgiveness every chance he got. He figured if one time was sufficient, several times had to be even better! Paul's earthly life was temporary, but his heavenly presence is for eternity. As you hear these words, picture Paul emerging from his broken body into heavenly peace. The butterfly emerges from its silken shell--- Reborn, it arises, no longer bound to earth. Free at last, the butterfly glides to heights unknown before. So do our loved ones find a beautiful release as, earthbound no more, they leave our sight and joyfully rise to a garden of matchless beauty, a place of light and peace.
