Paul M. Fister, Attorney, died following a short illness, Thursday, May 19th, 2011. He was born August 23rd, 1934 to Alvin and Lily Fister, of Berwyn, Illinois. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received his B.S. in Geophysics. He held employment at Western Electric, Xerox, and Thompson McKinnon. He obtained his Juris Doctor from OCU in 1971, worked for the Securities Exchange Commission, and subsequently practiced law.
He loved playing tennis and handball, coaching baseball and officiating basketball. He attended Crossings Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Russel B. Fister. He is survived by his son, Paul Michael Fister II and Michaels Mother, Nelda Graff Fister, of Edmond; his sister, Mary F. Jansey and her husband, Ted, of Plano, TX; his brother, Alvin R. Fister and his wife, Delores, of Memphis, TN; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Interment will be in Memphis, TN. The family wishes to thank the 7th floor ICU doctors, nurses and staff at the OKC VA Medical Center for their wonderful care of both Paul and the family. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers or Parkinsons Association or the charity of donors choice.
