Dec. 14, 1923 - May 9, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY Paul E. Eye, 93, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on May 9, 2017. Paul was born on Dec. 14, 1923 in Potosi, MO to Ed and Hattie Mae (Cole) Eye. Paul served his country during WWII as a tank crewman in the Western Pacific and Southern Philippines Campaigns. During his time in battle, Paul came to know the Lord as his Savior. Paul married his love, Leone Compton on May 17, 1947 in St. Louis, MO. In 1956 Paul, Leone and two daughters moved to San Diego, CA where he eventually owned a Gulf Service Station in the 60s-70s. A son and daughter were born while living in San Diego. The couple then returned to Potosi, MO to care for Leones mother. Upon the death of his mother-in-law, Paul and Leone moved to Aurora, CO. In 1982, they moved to OKC until 1996 when they transplanted to Melbourne, FL. While in FL, Paul was diagnosed with dementia. Paul and Leone returned to reside in OKC in 2009. Paul was a kind, gentle man who was a wonderful husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Leone, OKC; daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Rick Manley, Melbourne, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Chuck Hopper, OKC; son, Steven Eye, Silverthorne, CO; and daughter, Marianne Jackson, OKC; grandson, Bryan Manley, Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Heather Williams, husband Christopher and three sons, Melbourne, FL,; grandson, Jake Renfro, wife Colleen, OKC; granddaughter, Jamie Marrs, husband Steve, OKC; granddaughter, Jennifer Eye, husband Brian Martinez , Montrose, CO; and granddaughter, Sidney Dingal, husband, Joe, and two daughters, OKC; grandson, Logan Eye, Denver, CO. A "celebration" of Pauls life will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, June 10, at Mercer Adams Funeral Home, 3925 N Asbury Ave., Bethany, OK 73008. Paul will be interred at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Baptist Village of OKC, Memory Support Fund, 9700 Mashburn Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
