Obituary

On Friday, November 4, 2011, Pattie Hogan went to be with her father. She was surrounded by her family members as she took her last breath on this earth. Pattie was born on February 18, 1933 in Granite, Oklahoma and was the only child of Luther and Esther French. She graduated from Granite High School and then went to Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford before getting married to the love of her life, Ed Hogan, in November of 1953. After their marriage, Ed and Pattie moved to Bethany where they started their family and began raising their children, Eddie Pat, Dewieta and Melanie. The family continued to grow as the grandchildren came along. With a total of 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, Patties life was complete. The family is greatly indebted to the staff and administration at Concordia Life Care Community and particularly, George Reese, who was Patties nurse the entire time. George was great at going above and beyond the call of duty. Pattie was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Esther French and her husband, Ed Hogan. She is survived by three children, son Eddie Pat and wife Sharon of Yukon, daughter Dewieta Carter and husband Rob of Bethany, and daughter Melanie Swadley and husband Brent of Yukon; 7 grandchildren, Shera Porter and husband Ryan, Brad Hogan and wife Amanda, Karl Carter and wife Carrie, Amanda Carrera and husband Manny, Koltan, Keaton, and Kailyn Swadley; 9 great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Logan and Cooper Porter, Kambri Hogan, Conner and Karlie Carter, Adriana, Alex and Eli Carrera; as well as a large group of family and friends. The family of Pattie Hogan would like to thank Eds cousin, Algerita Massey, who also provided in-home care to both of them when they became confined to the home due to their illnesses. The family would also like to thank the physicians and staff at Deaconess Hospital for their loving care. Services are at Cherokee Hills Church of Christ on Wednesday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
