Obituary

Patsy Jean (Pagan) Thanscheidt passed away on May 29, 2026 in Oklahoma City at the age of 90. She was born on February 12, 1936, in Sapulpa, OK to Areatus and Opal Gail (Facker) Pagan.

She graduated as valedictorian from Stroud High School in 1952. She went on to earn a B.S. degree in Education from Bethany Nazarene College in 1956 and a Master of Teaching degree in Elementary Education from Central State College in 1959. Patsy was an elementary school teacher for Oklahoma City Public Schools, and then she retired as a civil servant from Tinker Air Force Base after working there for 25 years, working as a welder, parts inspector, publication systems specialist and lead computer operator. She became a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene in 1957 where she sang in the choir, played piano and organ for Sunday School classes, and loved attending the Women's Bible Study. Patsy was a kind, sweet and supportive lady who enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, hunting squirrels with her brothers, reading books, sewing, helping anyone in need, and especially spending time with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Patsy was married to Roy William Thanscheidt, having met him at BNC, from 1959 to 1979. She is survived by her son, Bruce Thanscheidt; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Walid Haddad; and son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Laura Thanscheidt. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Deeb and his wife Chelsea, Nora Haddad, Renee Haddad, Lisa Thanscheidt, Laura Thanscheidt and Ash and her husband Andy Pilcher; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Myla, Amaya and Zadie; nephews, Barry Pagan, Gary Tyler and Philip Tyler; and nieces, Melva Morrison, Lisa Pagan and Brenda Bartolomeo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; older brother, E.C. Pagan of Emporia, Kansas and older brother, Dr. Keith A. Pagan of San Diego, California; older sister, Reeda Tyler of Bethany, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Patrice Haddad; and niece, Beryl Pagan of San Diego, California.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Wednesday, June 3, from 12:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 4 at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
