Gaylene Turner died Friday night, June 21, 2024 while on comfort care and in the company of her son and baby sister. She lived 89 years with an "I think I can" attitude and a strong sense of independence.

She and Virden Turner married in 1966 and they had three children – Leslie, who lives in Oklahoma City with her husband and family; Leanne, who died in 2018; and Keith, who lives in Sugar Land, Texas, with his wife, Meredith. Gaylene and Virden were grandparents to several biological and bonus kiddos, and a few great-grandkiddos.

Gaylene's parents, Dixie (Dean) and Robert W. Bozarth; her baby brother, Ronnie and his wife, Carrie; her daughter, Leanne; the daughter of her baby sister, Cory (Isabell) Pack; a favorite cousin, Garland Dean; and scores of aunts and uncles died before she did.

Surviving her are her sisters and their kiddos, Joy Boone of Houston and her children and grandkids; and Brenda Ford of Newcastle, OK, and her daughter, a special niece who visited her often, Darby Peacock, and her husband, Reginald, also of Newcastle.

Anyone who knew her knew her love of the Lord and the joy she got from singing. She had many friends from Sunday School, in church choir, and from her water aerobics classes.
