Patricia Lynn "Welsch" Robinson, age 76, passed away on March 31, 2022 after a very short battle with cancer.
She was born December 13, 1945 to Howard and Margaret Welsch in Saint Joseph, Missouri. She was the third of seven children.
She attended Sacred Heart Convent School and graduated from Bishop LeBlonde High School in 1963. During her senior year of high school, she met the love of her life, Steve Robinson Jr. on a blind date. Their love for each other was instant and they married on April 25, 1964. Their marriage was soon blessed by the birth of their first daughter, Lori Robinson, in February of 1965. In December of the same year, Lisa Robinson Kalman arrived. Having two children born in the same calendar year was like raising twins, she often said.
In July of 1973, Pat and Steve welcomed their first and only son, Brent Robinson.
Pat spent most of her life working 40+ hours a week. She worked in various fields, but she often said her favorite place to work was Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka Kansas. She was warmly received by the staff of doctors because you would find her frequently taking them a hot cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea. That was followed closely by the time she spent working for Vick and Mary Bailey in Fairview Oklahoma. Pat never met a stranger.
Along with working long hours each day and raising 3 young children, she was the caregiver of her husband, Steve. He passed away in 1990 and she never remarried.
Her interests in life included her love of family, her love of Hallmark movies, playing cards and challenging anybody she knew to trivia. She was a diehard Chiefs fan and she looked forward to every Sunday. She recorded each game, and she would rewatch the winning games and delete the losing games. You were never allowed to speak poorly of her beloved Patrick Mahomes.
In 2012, she moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to her three children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Robinson; her parents, Howard and Margaret Welsch; and two siblings, Gina Compton and Tom Welsch.
Pat is survived by her children, Lori Robinson, Lisa and Steven Kalman, and Brent and Tammy Robinson; grandchildren, Andrew Kalman, Blake Kalman, Riley Kalman, Lauren Robinson, Garrett Robinson, and Erika Bang; great-grandchildren, Paizlee Kalman and Amelia Kalman; siblings, Sherry Scott, Roxanne Canfield, Rick Welsch, and Kathy Welsch.
The family prefers in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to an autism charity of your choice in honor of her great-granddaughter, Amelia.
