Obituary

Patricia Ann Monteith, 83, passed away on July 23, 2026. She was born on October 9, 1942, to father, J.W. Rainbolt and mother, Mattie Viola (Ward) Rainbolt in Penelope, Texas. She married Monty Monteith on November 23, 1962.

Patricia attended Bethany High School, where she met her husband of almost 64 years. She graduated in 1960. After high school, she was a prominent member at Putnam City Baptist Church, where she taught and was very active in the youth ministry.

Patricia enjoyed holiday decorating, bird watching, cooking, watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and spoiling her two grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.

She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her children and grandchildren knew her as a kind and loving woman who was always willing to listen. Her friends, such as Dinky Smith, knew her to be reliable and always loyal. Patricia and Dinky were often viewed as inseparable.

Patricia was the eldest of 8 children. To her brothers and sisters, she was always a leader. She always found a way to get them all together to continue to connect and grow their relationship as siblings.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, J.W and Viola Rainbolt; her brother, Lloyd Rainbolt; and her daughter, Julie Monteith.

She is survived by her husband, Monty Monteith; her son, Doug Monteith; her daughter, Meridith Phillips; her son-in-law, Carl Phillips; her grandsons, Brayden and Noah Phillips; her granddaughters-in-law, Falicity Phillips and Hailey Sanders; her great-granddaughter, Marcielene Phillips; her brothers, Joe Rainbolt, Kenneth Rainbolt, and Wayne Rainbolt; her sisters, Shirley Henderson, Pam Waters and Cyndi Moore; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
