Owen J. Smith, Jr. went to be with Our Lord on April 24, 2014. Owen was born August 16, 1957 in Lansing, Michigan to Owen and Dorothy Smith. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jeri Smith of Bethany and son, Michael O. Smith of Warr Acres, OK; daughter, Michelle R. Smith-Jaramillo and husband, Domingo Jaramillo-Arevalo and grandson, Alex of Bethany; parents, Owen and Dorothy Smith of Mt. Pleasant, MI; brother, Dwight Smith and Susanna Russo of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Joyce Smith of Bethany, Julie Pego and husband, Paul of Mt. Pleasant, MI; nephews, John Silversmith and David Silversmith of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and numerous family members and friends. Owen received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Nazarene University and his Masters degree in Business Management from the University of Central Oklahoma. He was the owner of Smith Construction Services in Bethany. He was a member of The Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Owen loved to go fishing, watch numerous sporting events; basketball, baseball, golf and his all-time favorite "Oklahoma Sooners Football" (There's only 1 Oklahoma.) His favorite saying "Wouldn't You Agree". Viewing will be Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 11am-9pm and April 28 from 9am-6:30pm with Wake Service from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Mercer-Adams. Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery, N. W. 63rd and Rockwell.
