Lecreatia Ouita Clayborn Stanfield Byers, 87, passed away January 20, 2017. She was born July 17, 1929 in Kingston, OK to Curtis and Otha (Littleton) Clayborn. She grew up in southeastern Oklahoma and was valedictorian of her 1946 graduation class of Idabel Gray High School. Ouita was married to Noble L. Stanfield on April 20, 1946. She began employment with the Dept. of Public Welfare on June 11, 1946. Her only child, Noble D. Stanfield, was born on August 31, 1947. Ouita continued her employment with now Dept. of Human Services and retired as a Personnel Assistant on August 1, 1984. Ouita married T. Byers on February 14, 1992. She was a devout Christian and was a longtime member of the Faith Sunday School Class and Baptist Temple Church. She will be remembered as a gracious, generous, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, "MeMe," sister, and friend to all. She enjoyed making pies, cakes and cookies for her family, especially for the holiday occasions. She enjoyed OU football, OKC Thunder and fishing. Ouita was preceded in death by her parents, and first husband, Noble L. Stanfield. Survivors include her husband, T. Byers and family; son, Noble D. Stanfield and wife Cindy; granddaughters, Teresa Stanfield, Cheri Stanfield, Stephanie Stanfield Edwards and husband Towma, Tricia Daniel, and Ginger Rowell and husband Christian; great-grandsons, Devon T. Stanfield, Jay Hugle, Mason Bauer, Dane Vincent and Christian Rowell, II; great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Olivia Rowell, Payslee Abbott and Jasmine Stanfield; and sister, Edwina Buckman and husband Gene of Louisiana. Memorial services will be Friday, January 27, 11:00am at Baptist Temple Church.
