Othella Irene Thompson, 81, was known by many names. Daughter to Alice Matilda and Theodore H. Holt; Sister to Norma, Ted, and Ruthie; Wife to Ernest William "Bill" Thompson for 55 years; Mom to William, John and wife, Teresa, and Robert; Grandma Bunny to Aundrea and Husband, Jeff, Benjamin, Daniel, Nathan, Aaron, Alexia, and Perry and wife, Melissa; GrannyB to Austin, Trey, Zack, Josslin, Jason, and Colton; Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews; Friend to many; and Servant to the Lord.
She was known for many things. Singing in the choir at Council Road Baptist Church, at the TA Truck Stop Church, while doing household chores, and even in her sleep. She loved working in the church library, in the flower garden, and for the Baptist Builders. She could be found doing numerous crafts, ceramics or painting in her free time. She loved reading and playing games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her smile could light up any room. But everyone knew when the Thompson Boys were acting up in church because she gave them "The Look".
In the early hours of December 2, 2017, Othella was reunited with her parents, Alice and Theodore, husband, Bill, son, Robert, and grandson, Benjamin, as she passed peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma.
