Orville Heldenbrand went to be with his Lord and Comforter, October 10, 2010, at the age of 88, after a 5 year battle with Alzheimers. Preceding Orville in death were his parents, first wife Norma Lee Heldenbrand, 2 brothers, 1 sister and granddaughter Sarah Zaffos. Orville was born October 1, 1922 in Marland, Oklahoma. His family moved to Wichita, Kansas where Orville graduated high school and attended Wichita University. In 1943, Orville answered the call to serve his country and proudly served in the 491st Bomber Squadron of the 8th Air Force where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant as a B24 radio operator. Returning home, Orville graduated with a MBA from the University of Oklahoma. He proudly claimed alumni status and attended as many football games as his health would allow. He also enjoyed fishing. Orville is survived by Lola, his wife of 36 years; children, son Marty Heldenbrand, daughters, Lisa Hilbern and Lori Kelley, step-children Pam Zaffos and Mike Shannon; sister, Ruby Coleman; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren whom he loved and was always proud. In lieu of flowers to contribute to the Alzheimers Assoc., 3555 NW 58th, Suite 22, OKC, OK 73112. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 14, 2:00pm at Heritage Baptist Church with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.
