Opal Marie McIntyre was born on October 10, 1926 to Verne and Vida McIntyre in Retrop, Oklahoma, and went home to be with her Lord on February 20, 2016, after a 9-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Opal and her first husband Parker worked together in the cosmetology business, owning beauty salons and a beauty school in the Oklahoma City area. Opal was also elected as president of the Oklahoma Cosmetology Association, and was active in professional advocacy for salons statewide. After Parkers passing, Opal met Paul Reynolds with whom she enjoyed 9 years of marriage before Pauls passing in 2011. Opal was a committed Christian and a faithful member of Mayfair Baptist Church and, in later years, Bethany First Nazarene Church. Opal is predeceased by her parents, Verne and Vida McIntyre; sons, Monte Smith and Tommy Smith; husbands, Parker Smith and Paul Reynolds; and siblings, Jay McIntyre, Dolen McIntyre, Billy McIntyre, Jolene Wilmon, Darla McIntyre, and Joyce Ford. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Evelyn McIntyre and Eileen McIntyre; stepchildren, Beverly Hargrave and husband Larry, Barbi Moore and husband Harlan; daughter-in-law, Gina Smith; grandchildren, Michael Smith and wife Stephanie, Anthony Smith, Heather Roberts, Holly Jarolim and husband Blake; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Smith, Lavender and Moss Roberts, and Beckett Jarolim; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Dean Brown, Heritage Assisted Living, Centennial Hospice, Intregris Hospice House, and Ranchwood Nursing Center for their compassionate care. Public visitation will be Monday, February 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with family present from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home. A celebration of Opals life will be Tuesday, February 23, 2:00 p.m., at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene in the chapel. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
