Obituary

Oneta Stiverson was called home by her Lord Jesus on the 13th of December, 2008. She was born the second of six children the 18th of August, 1914 to James P. and Berdie Montgomery of El Dorado, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Bethany in 1931. She married Raymond E. Stiverson on Thanksgiving Day of 1933. Together they had four loving sons. The Stiverson family upholstery business was established in Bethany in 1946 and Onetas antique business opened approximately 10 years later. Raymond and Oneta were members of the First Baptist Church of Bethany. Oneta taught Juniors Dept. Sunday school and sang in the choir. Oneta was preceded in death by her parents; brothers O.P. & Ellis (Montgomery); sister Francis Caviness; and her husband of 74 years, Raymond. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Charles and Dora May Jones; brother F.F. Montgomery; sons Ray and his wife Sharon, J.P., Greg and Dan; as well as seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Oneta was a dedicated mother and wife who loved and was greatly loved. She shared the boundless love of Jesus everywhere that she went, and will be missed by all who knew her. Oneta graced many homes by giving her beautifully painted china and wall hangings. God gave her wonderful talents. Services will be Friday, December 19, 10:00 a.m. at Bethany First Baptist Church with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
