Ola Fay "Ma-ma" Furrh died peacefully in her sleep, June 12, 2016, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on September 4, 1927 in Polaska, TX to Ollie L. Benton and Mammie E. Watson. She spent her early years in Memphis, TX where she met and married the love of her life, Benton V. Furrh. Fay married Benton in September, 1943 and they shared over 70 years together. Fay and Benton moved to Oklahoma where they built a house in Warr Acres and raised their four children. Fay was actively involved in Brownies and Girl Scouts. She worked as nursing assistant and staffing manager at Deaconess Hospital where she retired with over 20 years of service. Fay enjoyed going to the lake, camping vacations with the family, and flower gardening. She was an avid seamstress and loved crocheting and knitting. She was most proud of her handmade quilts and designs. During the kids early years, she spent many evenings at the ballpark supporting her childrens baseball games. Canning was also a hobby of hers where she spent time canning fruits and vegetables from their garden. One her very favorite pastimes was gathering around the dining table playing pinochle on the weekends with her family and close friends. Fay was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brothers, and husband. She is survived by her 4 children, Tony and wife Niki, Nancy Stanley, Terry Lee, Jerry Lynn and wife Laurie, all of OKC; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be Saturday, June 18, 3:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with graveside services immediately following in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
