Norris Gene Moore, 88, of Oklahoma City, is at rest with his Lord, as of January 29, 2016. Norris was born on March 7, 1927 in Nimmons, Arkansas to Arthur and Goldie Moore.
Norris was a World War II Veteran. He served in the U.S. Army 16th Infantry in Austria. He spent most his work career as an over the road truck driver for ETMF and ABF freight company. Upon retirement he enjoyed bowling, billiards and most of all Atlanta Braves/St. Louis Cardinal baseball. Norris was a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. He was a resident of Quail Ridge Assisted Living where he enjoyed many friendships and special memories.
Norris was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, both parents and one brother, Ancel Moore. He is survived by daughter, Karen Allen and husband Dean of Yukon, OK; daughter, Diane Gassett and husband Bryant of Yukon, OK; brother, Lonnie Moore of Rockford, IL His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Chad Gassett and wife Leah of Jenks, OK and Cole Gassett and wife Rachel of Stillwater, OK.
His loss leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family but they know he has joined a host of loved ones in his new eternal home with Christ. Viewing will be Mon, Feb 1 from 11am-9pm with family present from 6:30-8:30pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany. Private family graveside service Tues. 10:00am.
