Norman was born in Weatherford, OK to Art and Elsie Heidebrecht on December 8, 1938. He had humble beginnings on the farm in Weatherford with his parents and 4 older siblings. As a child, when he wasn't busy feeding the chickens and pigs or milking the cows, he loved playing basketball and fishing in his grandpa's creek.
During his high school years, Norman drove a combine tractor to harvest the wheat for the family farm. His first paying job was as a school bus driver. After high school, he attended Southwestern State College for 3 years. He joined the National Guard for 8 years and was never called to war.
Norman started to work for Little Giant in 1962. During his 45-year career, he went to OCU and received his Bachelor's degree in 1970 and MBA in 1975. He worked his way up to Accounting Manager, Controller, VP of Finance, VP and General Manager, and finally President and CEO. After retiring from LGPC, he owned and operated ESupply Depot for 16 years, giving the most amazing customer service to his customers. He was involved in Rotary and The Tech Group.
Norman was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He made his family a priority and they always came first in his life. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, faith, valuable life lessons and most of all love. He will be greatly missed, and his family will always hold on to the precious memories of time together.
Norman is survived by his wife, Gerri Heidebrecht of Oklahoma City; daughter, Lori Stearman and husband Chris Stearman of Edmond; daughter, Tyra Woodward and husband David Woodward of Norman; granddaughter, Valerie Joplin of Norman; sister, Betty Decker of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Eliena McClung of Okeene and Maria Nease of Okeene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
