Obituary

Norma Jean Sobczyk, lovingly known as "Nanny Norma," passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her children at the age of 75. She was born on August 7, 1947, in New Haven, Connecticut, to the late Frank and Gloria Kelley and went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2023. Norma's hands were always busy with the hobbies she loved. She enjoyed playing Hand and Foot Canasta, crocheting, quilting, and engaging in jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She found joy in creating handmade treasures for her children and grandchildren, leaving behind cherished memories. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her first love, Joe Determan; her devoted children, Kelli Tuter and husband Roger, Suzi Hanson and husband Christian, Tammi Foster, Diana Mercado and husband Victor, Kimberly Renee Stenz and husband Daniel, John Bosco Determan and wife Beth, Allen Swearingen and wife Angela, Raymond Swearingen and wife Amber; as well as her 35 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Martha White, Debbie Wood and husband Ralph, and Stephanie King and husband Terry; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gloria Kelley; as well as husbands John Sobczyk and Keith Swearingen. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Mercer Adams Funeral Home on Friday, June 30th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, located at 3925 N. Asbury Ave., Bethany, OK 73008. Funeral services will be held at Victory Church on Saturday, July 1st, at 1:00 PM, located at 4300 N. MacArthur Blvd., Warr Acres, OK 73122. Burial will follow the funeral services at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, located at 7801 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73132. In this time of grief, may we find solace in the cherished memories of Norma's life, the love she shared, the beautiful legacy she leaves behind and the grace of our savior Christ Jesus.
