Obituary

TROXEL, NOMA LEE ELLEN (RENFRO). The daughter of James Edward and Georgia Almanza (Rushing) Renfro was born April 22, 1927, near Konawa, Oklahoma and passed away August 21, 2014 at Blaine, Minnesota. She was 87 years old. She graduated from high school at Vamoosa High School in 1945 and then moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to find a job and this is where she met Richard Maloy Troxel. They were married on August 18, 1946, after a three month courtship, and celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary a few days ago. (It is important to note that her mother-in-law loved having her as her daughter-in-law.) Richard and Noma were the parents of two children. She retired from Jones Truck Lines in 1984 after 23 years as cashier. She has been a member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church since 1951, where she taught Sunday School in the children's department for 10 years and was church librarian for a number of years. She is survived by her husband Richard; daughter, Linda Darlene (Troxel) Watkins and her husband David Michael Watkins; son, Steven Richard Troxel and his wife Rosanna (Rosie) (Schmucker) Troxel; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one brother, George Memphis Renfro; and two sisters, Zelma Jo (Renfro) Harbour and Ruby Pauline (Renfro) Walker. Visitation will be at Mercer Adams Funeral Home in Bethany Oklahoma, Thursday evening, August 28, at 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Portland Avenue Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, on Friday morning, August 29, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens under the direction of Mercer Adams Funeral Home.
