Nola Dean Cheney, 86, died July 30, 2013 in OKC. She was born December 31, 1926 in Delaware County, OK, the daughter of Leon and Mary (Harlan) Cooper. She grew up in OKC and graduated from Classen High School. She retired as bookkeeper for ARA Magazine. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, receiving her 50 year pin in 1996. She was also a member of the Delta Rho Delta Sorority, ABVW Will Rogers Chapter, 89ers Fan Club, and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, Westwood Chapter #422. Being a person who loved to travel, in recent years, she volunteered at traveler's aid at the airport. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orville L. Cheney, sister, Betty J. Ciupak, and nephew, James Ciupak. Survivors include her nephews, Stephen Ciupak and wife Carolyn, Frisco, TX, Don Ciupak and wife Jan, Edmond; nieces, Karen Jackson and husband Robert, Santa Rosa, CA, Patti Jordan and husband Jeff, Tulsa; brother-in-law, George Ciupak; and 17 grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Friday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 3, 10:30am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with entombment in Resthaven Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
