Sweet Noah Bear peacefully passed away January 9, 2019, in his mothers arms surrounded by family and staff at the Childrens Center. Noah was born in Shawnee Mission, KS, and, at 3 months of age, sustained a devastating brain injury. As a result, Noah lived the majority of his life at the Childrens Center in Bethany. Noah was surrounded by nothing but love there, where the phenomenal staff became family and afforded Noah every opportunity to develop to his greatest potential. He loved to listen to music, pretend he was sleeping, blow kisses, and smile often. Noah was a fighter who overcame multiple obstacles and illnesses, but with his most recent bout of pneumonia, finally went to his Heavenly home.
Noah is survived by his mother and step-father, Anna and Trey Welker; his sisters, Olivia, Sophia, and Malia; his maternal grandparents, Harvey and Jennifer Horsley; his step-grandparents, Johnny and Diane Welker; and countless other aunts, uncles and cousins. Noah was preceded in death by his cousin, Emma.
His life will be celebrated Saturday, January 19 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00am, followed by a prayer service at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Childrens Center.
