Nila Davonne Kapka (Ogburn) passed away June 12, 2026 in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was born August 8, 1940 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Jesse and Ora Ogburn.
During her early childhood years, the family moved to many small towns in Oklahoma as her father sought work as a Master mason and carpenter. The family settled during her teen years in the Belle Isle area of Oklahoma City. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1958 where she met her soon-to-be-husband, Jerry Kapka. They were married on April 11, 1959.
Davonne followed Jerry to Hawaii where he had been stationed while in the Marine Corps. While serving there, they had two sons Michael (1960) and Jeffrey (1962). Once detached from the service they moved back to Oklahoma where they set up house in the Britton area of Oklahoma City.
During this time, they had two more children, Melody (1968) and Jason (1970). In 1975, the family moved to Yukon, Oklahoma where they remained till their deaths. During those years she enjoyed being a member of a "BUNCO" game group and they became her closest lifelong friends. The group went on many "girl trips" over the years.
Davonne and Jerry spent much of their time working together at the Myriad Convention Center as ushers at many events from its opening till its closing as an event venue. They also worked together at the State Fair of Oklahoma as outside gate ticket sellers for many years.
Upon retirement, Davonne and Jerry spent time with their grandchildren at their school and life events. Davonne enjoyed reading as well as scrapbooking, creating photo albums of the grandkids. In her later years, she developed a passion for coloring books and spent many hours coloring.
Davonne was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; son, Jeffrey; parents, Jesse and Ora;
sister, Marilyn; brother, Wilburn (Kitty); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harlan and Ruth; sister-in-law, Betty Lou (Ray); sister-in-law, Joanne; granddaughter, Millie; and nephews, Russ and Kevin.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Karen), Melody (Tim), and Jason (Tracy); seven grandchildren, Sam, Tyler (Kristin), Hannah, Cooper, Allyssa (Steven), Alexis, and Brooke (Justin); Three great-grandchildren, Preston, Sage and Sumner; nieces, Nancy (Yaz), Marsha, and Jane (Rocky), nephews, Carl (Kara), Brenden, and Cullen; and her beloved dog Annie.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 10:00am, at Mercer-Adams Chapel. Viewing with family present will be held at 9:00am just prior to the service. Interment will follow at 2:00pm in Paoli Cemetery, Paoli, OK.
