Nick Knezevich, Jr. died on September 10, 2015, age 67, in Oklahoma City, OK with liver cancer. Services are at Mercer-Adams Chapel on, Monday September 14th, 2015 at 11:00am with Rev. Lee Lennon of Lamesa, TX and Lewis McClain of Oklahoma City, OK officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery under the direction of Mercer-Adams Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home on Sunday, September 13th, 2015. Nick Knezevich, Jr. was born on August 9, 1948 in Boone, Iowa. They moved to Des Moines, Iowa when he was 10. Nick was married on June 9, 1984, to Faira Kay Huffaker. They lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated from Des Moines Tech High, and then received an Associate's Degree from Grand View College. He was in the Navy for 6 years serving in San Francisco, CA, Fallon, Nevada, Rhode Island, Guam and his most interesting tour of duty was to winter over in Antarctica. He received his Professional Engineers License. He worked for many years at FAA as an engineer. He was given many awards. He retired in 2005 and was so glad he did as he got to spend time with his Mom and Faira's Mom and Dad. He then opened his repair shop, Digital and Linear Systems Research and repaired the avionics of the L39 jets. He has international customers. His favorite thing was airplanes and he loved flying. He was a very kind and helpful person. He loved his Lord and was faithful at Council Road Baptist Church. He also loved animals and he loved going to the lake and feeding the ducks and geese. He was preceded in death by his father, Nick Knezevich, Sr. and mother, Sybil Miller Knezevich. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Faira Kay Knezevich; sister, Sylvia Knezevich of Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Mike Knezevich of Portland, Oregon; brother-in-law, Keith Huffaker of Port Arthur, Texas; nephew, Shawn Huffaker of Orange, Texas; and great niece, Skylynn Huffaker of Orange, Texas.
