Neta Jones was born Neta Lou Brummett on October 29, 1927 to Glen and Elberta Brummett. Glen and Elberta lived in the small town of Libscomb, right outside of Higgins, Texas.
Neta graduated from Shattuck high school in 1944 and from Bethany-Peniel college (now SNU) in 1948.
She married the "love of her life", Glen Allen Jones, on June 29, 1951. To this union, were born: Geron Allen, Carolyn Rae and Tami Lou.
Glen and Neta lived in Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Missouri before coming back home to Oklahoma. They lived in Guymon, Oklahoma for 29 years before moving to Mustang Oklahoma.
Neta was a teacher. She was a high school teacher, taught several grades as a substitute teacher and then taught full time in second grade for 20 years.
Neta traveled in the summer months for 25 years as a part of "Aunt Neta and Co." doing Vacation Bible Schools and Childrens Camps.
She has served on church boards and been awarded the Distinguished Service Award twice by the Church of the Nazarene.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen; her parents; grandparents; brothers Dale, Alden, Bill and Bob; and grandson, Marcus Jones.
Survivors include her son, Geron Jones and wife Beckie; daughters, Carolyn and husband Terry Crowder and Tami and husband, Jonathan Waits; grandchildren, Bill and Leah Jones, Heather Jones, and Blake and Venessa Waits; great grandchildren, Ariel and Daniel Osorio, Connor Jones and Logan Jones; and great, great grandchild, Gabriel Osorio.
Neta Jones brought joy to those who got to know her. She laughed; loved; taught and inspired. And ultimately left this world a much better place than she found it.
