Obituary

Nathan was born March 3, 1971 in Long Beach, California to Paul and Billie Hagemeier. Nathan was loved and cherished by his family and the church family at Crescent Ave. Church of the Nazarene in Buena Park, CA where his father pastored. When Nathan was 5, he was dealt a blow that would affect the rest of his life when his father died suddenly. He lived in La Palma and Redlands California where he attended school and participated in Special Olympics. He later moved with his mother and her husband, Robert Ferris to Bethany, Oklahoma and graduated from Putnam City High School. After the death of Robert Ferris, Nathan continued to live at home until his mother purchased a small home on Mueller Ave. for him. Her current husband, Charles Harrison, made the home safe and cozy for Nathan. Nathan never considered himself limited in what he attempted or curbed his enthusiasm to participate or perform. He took a special interest in the music programs at his church, Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. While living on Mueller, he frequently attended Bethany City Council meetings and once, managed to be on the agenda to address the Counsel at which time he thanked them for their service to the people of Bethany. Nathan worked several years at Allens Grill in Bethany and enjoyed helping set up for the Freedom Festival. He loved being with his family and especially when they were celebrating him. He made several trips to Yakima, WA. to visit his sister, Janet, and her husband, Lindsay, and his nieces, Julia, Kimberly, and Courtney, and nephew, Jonathan. In his early years, Nathan enjoyed "singing and preaching" and when he grew older, exploring the outdoors, and long walks. In fact, Nathan knew many of the Bethany Police Officers personally because they would see him far from home and give him a ride back. Nathan was set free on September 16, 2016, to be complete in the presence of our Lord. Nathan was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Paul Hagemeier, He is survived by his mother, Billie Harrison, his step father, Charles Harrison, sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Lindsay Buckner, nieces, Julia Massey, Kimberly Buckner, Courtney Lindsey, and nephew, Jonathan Buckner. His body will be interred next to his father's at Forest Lawn, Cypress, California. Memorial Service Tuesday, September 20, 2016 01:00 PM Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, Chapel in the Round 6789 N.W. 39th Expressway Bethany, OK 73008
