Obituary

Mona Joyce Riggall, 88, passed peacefully on Friday June 30, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She lived a long, happy, and healthy life loving and caring for her family and friends. Mona was born in Harlan, KY on July 16, 1934. In July of 1949 she moved to Oklahoma City with her family and worked at her fathers grocery store, "Hensleys Corner and Market," on SW 29th Street. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School, Class of 1952. After graduation she got a clerical job at the hospital where she met her soulmate, James Riggall, MD. They got married and she became the best full-time wife and mom to their three children. Later in her life, she went back to work alongside her son, Joe, at Airborne Express until she retired. Mona was adventurous and absolutely loved traveling anywhere to fish, shop, or enjoy a good meal. She enjoyed listening to music and getting dressed up to dance all night long. She also loved flowers, her garden, hummingbirds, getting her nails done, a good outfit, reading, shooting guns, and cooking the best home-cooked meal you ever tasted. Mona was a loyal daughter, sister, mom, grandma, great-grandma, neighbor, and friend - the type that everyone dreams of having in their life. Her strong faith in Christ and devotion to her family are both an incredible sense of comfort. Mona enjoyed good company and always welcomed anyone and everyone into her home, especially during the holidays that she made extra magical and unforgettable for everyone that came into her life and became part of the family. Mona is survived by her two daughters, Jamie Goodwin and Judy McKown; daughter-in-law, Cindy Riggall; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren (so far); her brother and sister-in-law, Garry and Donna Hensley; and her beloved chihuahua, Crash. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton French Hensley and Artie Peters; her husband, James Riggall, MD.; son, Joseph Riggall; her brothers, Ronnie Hensley and Neil Hensley; sister-in-law, Sandy Hensley; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Ramona Riggall; nephew, Mike Riggall; and her granddaughter, Candace Crowell. A celebration of life for Mona will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel, 3925 N Asbury Avenue, Bethany, OK on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. There will be viewing prior to service. .
