Mitzie J.
Hembree
Dec 13, 1937 — Apr 4, 2026
Mitzie Joanne Hembree went to her heavenly home on April 4, 2026. She loved Jesus as her Savior and served Him faithfully in many roles throughout her life.
She was born December 13, 1937, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was an excellent student and told us many times that she did not miss a day of school in grades 1-12!
Mitzie and Roger were married 69 years. A loving wife and a true partner in many businesses, Mitzie strived to be a Proverbs 31 woman. She enjoyed traveling all over the world with Roger, most recently on a road trip to Alaska in 2022.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Mike Hembree and wife, Kelly Hightower and Michelle Mullens and husband, Chip. She was "all in" as Manny (her grandmother name). She enjoyed all 5 grandchildren, Charles Mullens and wife, Katherine Pickett, Caleb Mullens, Micah Hembree and her partner Josh Olson, Daniel Hembree and Jared Hembree.
Mitzie never missed family celebrations, including birthday parties for her 4 great-grandchildren; Royal Hembree, Charlie Mullens, Elijah Mullens and Everleigh Mullens.
She loved her "Forever Friends" who attended Bible Study Fellowship together. Her faith was absolute and carried her through the many challenges in life.
Her swimming friends were so special to her also. She made friends so easily and touched many lives everywhere she went, including in her neighborhood of more than 50 years.
She would want to remind every reader that Jesus loves you and died to pay the wages of your sins. We all fall short and sin, but Jesus paid it all.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV
We all miss her very much, but she longed for heaven and we praise God that she is in heaven now and free of Alzheimer's disease.
